Look closely – this calf has two layers of skin. The calf’s mother died and another mother’s calf died. To get that mother to nurse the orphaned calf, Soaphole skinned her dead calf and laid the skin on the orphan. The mom checked the scent, was fooled, and allowed the orphan to start nursing.
